      Senior Product Manager Interview

      13 Dec 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tel Aviv-Yafo
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at StreamElements (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Dec 2020

      Interview

It was a condensed, but interesting process. The interviewers were all very helpful and were guiding the conversation. The entire thing took about 2.5 weeks and everyone was very communicative and flexible in terms of scheduling throughout. I came away feeling impressed with the company and disappointed they didn't see a fit for me in a different role (I lacked the experience to succeed in the role I interviewed for). When applying, I was asked to fill out a questionnaire on their website. Overall, the way it is embedded seems a little counterproductive to the amount of detail I assume they want to see in your answers. After that I had a 20-30 minute screening phone call with the CTO (who was the hiring manager in my case), and he gave me an overview of the hiring process in that call, which was very helpful.   The next step was a Product Sense interview with the CEO (which was scheduled to be 45 minutes but ran extremely long) and then an hour long Product Execution + Leadership interview with one of the co-founders (who is an ex-Facebook PM) in which the CTO also sat in, but didn't participate beyond answering my own questions at the end of the interview.  I believe the last step is meant to be an interview with a fellow PM from the team but I haven't reached that far. But I did have a very pleasant and candid conversation with the CTO after he had let me know they wouldn't be continuing the process with me, and their transparency was very useful.

      Senior Product Manager Interview

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at StreamElements in Jan 2021

      Interview

The interview process includes the following steps: 1. Initial short screening call with the CTO 2. Product Sense interview with the CEO 3. Product Execution interview with the CTO 4. Product Leadership interview, not sure with who exactly 5. HR interview I had the chance to have the first three steps. Screening call - not much to say about it Product Sense interview - I met with the CEO, he asked me to tell about my experience and then continued to ask me questions about the information that I have filled out in the application form on their website. The last part of this interview was to build a new product from scratch in an industry to my choosing while articulating my thought process as I am brainstorming it. Product Execution - I met with the CTO, he asked me some questions like what do I deem the role of the PM as and connected these questions also to questions about my past experience. A few days after this interview I was told that they will be proceeding with other candidates at this time. I requested to get more feedback and I was very happy that the CTO called himself and provided me with concrete feedback about the interviews and my performance, giving me food for thought and candid feedback I can work toward improving in the future. I will add on top of that that the recruitment process was very professional and positive overall including: 1. Clear communication with HR over emails when passing or failing in one of the stages 2. Respectful interviews with the C-Level that provides great atmosphere during the interview to get the best they can from the candidate 3. Timely manner notifications and no ghosting Overall the interviews were difficult but the experience was very good.
