The first interview was with a recruiter and focused mainly on behavioral questions. This was followed by a more technical interview with the hiring manager, which reflected real challenges the team is currently facing. Next step was a take-home test.
I applied online. I interviewed at SumUp in Oct 2025
Interview
The interview process is quite lengthy, consisting of six stages: HR screening, direct manager interview, technical assessment, assessment presentation, stakeholder interview, and a bar raiser.
The difficulty level of the interviews was medium, and all interviewers were consistently pleasant and respectful. However, the overall experience was frustrating.
After presenting the case study, I received a rejection email with positive feedback, explaining that another candidate had already accepted the offer. Five days later, I was contacted again and informed that a new position had opened and that I could continue in the process.
After completing the stakeholder interview, the HR contact stopped responding to my emails altogether. Unfortunately, this lack of communication significantly overshadowed what had otherwise been a well-structured and professional interview process.

Question 1
Previous experience and projects, examples of stakeholder interactions.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SumUp (Berlin) in Aug 2024
Interview
My experience with this company's HR was one of the worst I've encountered. The team was consistently rude, condescending, and disrespectful throughout the process.
I was rejected after the take-home test phase without a reasonable explanation.
Unfortunately, this aligns with the negative company culture I've heard about from others. Several friends have also reported similarly poor experiences during their interviews. I would strongly advise staying away from this company.
