Interview
A few days after submitting my application, the recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. I promptly responded, but unfortunately, I didn't receive any further communication. After a few days of silence, I followed up, but still didn't receive a response. It was disheartening to experience this sudden lack of communication, especially when the recruiter had initially reached out. This situation made me question the professionalism of the human resources department. It's important to treat job applicants with respect, especially those who have taken the time to express their interest in the company and invest their time in the application process. Ghosting candidates can leave a negative impression and reflect poorly on the company's reputation.
We know candidates spend a lot of time and effort putting together resumes and cover letters and that means a lot to us. We review every application and regardless of the outcome, our promise is that everyone will hear back from us. No part of our recruiting process is automated, so sometimes we need to make space and grace for human error, however we have reviewed our records and see that we responded to everyone who applied for this important role in our organization. We are sad to hear that missed you somehow. Thank you again for your interest in Superfeet and we wish you the best of luck in your search.

Interview
The company overall is impressive, however the sales manager, who conducts the interviews, gave me a bad vibe. He will only do an initial Skype or FaceTime interview, which is bizarre to me. He sends this lengthy e-mail explaining the company and job, and he seemed creepy, and unprofessional. I knew right away I wouldn’t want to work for him as my manager at all, so I wasn’t trying to sell him.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Superfeet Worldwide (Ferndale, WA) in Oct 2017
Interview
Put in application and sent a personal email to HR Manager at that time. Heard back within a couple of days from a very pleasant HR rep to set up an interview the next week. He wasn't totally sure who my interview would be with, but gave me a date and time for the interview.
Showed up for interview slightly early and the receptionist went to look for who I would be meeting with. The first management team member came and got me and seemed a bit unclear about who was supposed to be interviewing me, crediting this to the HR rep who had set up the interview. Ultimately it was the operations manager and HR manager who I sat down with for the interview.
The interview was straightforward, with pretty standard questions regarding experience, etc. Both interviewers were great and easygoing, and didn't hesitate to crack jokes and keep things light. I had a good feeling about the interview and there seemed to be mutual interest. The HR manager walked me out and indicated I would probably be followed up with the next week regarding next steps.
I followed up with the HR Manager and Operations Manager multiple times over the course of the next three weeks, via email and phone, and did not hear anything back from either of them. They had each given me their business cards, so it seemed quite odd and unprofessional that they never responded.
Fast forward 3 weeks , and I finally received an email from the HR rep who had initially set up the interview, saying that I had not been selected for the position. At this point I had not been expecting an offer anyway, but it was a slap in the face to never get a response from the management who had interviewed me, then finally hear back from a lower-level employee after being ghosted for 3 weeks.
I would definitely give it another shot since Superfeet seems to be a great company as a whole, but this initial experience did leave a bad impression.
