Oh lordy. I feel terrible writing this review because I really wanted this company and opportunity to work out. Right out of the gate, this process was A MESS. The recruiter initially appeared unprofessional, but the communications I received were far from that. Communications were slow.
Interview process was so so so odd. My interview was at 10am. I arrived early as every candidate should. The hiring manager didn't show to escort me back until near 11am. The manager was frazzled and very disconnected. I was then taken back to an empty conference room and basically told about the job. I wasn't "interviewed" much, instead it sounded like the manager preferred to talk about the job itself and "when" I'm on the team. Recall my conversation with HR was broken to say the least. After about an hour and a half with this manager, the BlackBerry texting began. The manager was attempting to get his/her manager in the room and other folks as this was just supposed to be an initial screening and wanted to transform it into more. That individual's manager arrived about 20 minutes later, armed with some skills questions and a bit of intimidation tactics. I did appreciate it though, as it was my first attempt to tell a little about my experience, why I'd be a good fit, and prove that I really know my stuff. She was pleased with my performance, then the BlackBerry testing started again. For about the next 30 minutes, both managers sat across the table from me, texting away to get other folks in the room. Another 2 employees (would be peers of mine), arrived armed with a few questions for me. Overall, much of the same, less questions, more talking about the job and what I'd be doing.
Overall, the group was extremely warm and I could see myself working well with them.
