      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Sysdig (Milan) in Oct 2022

      Interview

I applied online and the process followed a fairly standard process. Initial screen with the recruiter, discussion with the hiring manager, technical screen involving setting up the product and answering questions and a couple of more interviews with sales and technical peers. The process itself was pretty slow, two months after applying, the process was still ongoing with a drip feed of updates. I kind of got the feeling I wasn't at the top of their list but they were hedging their bets to keep me sweet just in case their first choice let them down. You will be expected to setup the Kubernetes deployment in your own way, there was no mention upfront of them reimbursing expenditure for this, which I think would have been the professional thing to do. The people I spoke to were nice enough, but I didn't feel much of a sense of urgency on their side. They were aware I had some other applications on the go and this did not light any kind of fire under them. The product itself has a lot of rough edges and they were honest enough to acknowledge this, which deserves credit. However, I've been in this game long enough to know you can't sell promises, you have to sell what's on the truck. In the end I took an offer from elsewhere that I'd started afterwards and completed sooner which is a much more complete stack. Maybe in a year or so I'll be watching to see if they really do tighten up their offering because it does have a lot of potential but right now seems a little bit disjointed.

      Question 1

      - Why Sysdig? - Why do you want to leave your current role? - Discussion about past Kubernetes experience - Technical walkthrough of implementing the platform, experiences, feedback, etc.
