Interview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist reached out to me on LinkedIn for a position in the Risk Department. I had two phone interviews. The first interview was straightforward, reviewed my background, asked what I was looking for, and told me a information about the company and position. The second interview was via phone with the Corporate Recruiter, the interview lasted about 45 mins. She asked me to describe the position in my own words, then tells me, " I see you have a basic understanding of the bullet points. " I found that very bizarre. What else am I supposed to know about a position that I am not in. I ultimately was not offered the position because my "skills didn't match" . Mind you, they recruited me based on my qualifications, I did not apply to this position. I work in a role very similar to the auditor position, I have a masters degree, and a continuous work history.
It was very intensive, meeting with a couple groups of people through the 2 hour interview. I arrived early and was met a couple minutes late, so don’t worry about being “late”.
