I was contacted by TEKsystem's staffing partner Sriven System. Initial resume screening got handled by Sriven & then it got forwarded to hiring manager at TEK. Position was for Statefarm project which is basically supported by Mphasis. So there were 4 different levels of pay cuts(Statefarm > Mphasis > TEK > Sriven > Candidate!!) involved in offer position which was for hourly rate(!?). Job involved mainframe support 80% and application development 20% using Rexx/CLIST, ISPF. There was no client interview but only screening from TEKsystem.
Now screening from TEKsystem was shady part. I was repeatedly told by hiring manager that, the interview will be mostly based on ReXX only but at end they assigned a IMS/Db2 guy to conduct interview for " Rexx" position. That person had very little idea about ReXX, so naturally interview question were based mostly on DB2/IMS.So, basically I was interviewed for skills that were not required for position and interviewed by person who had not much experience in required skills. Go figure the outcome!
