I applied online. I interviewed at Talon. One (Berlin) in Apr 2025
Interview
The interview process was fairly quick and well-coordinated at first. I had a screening call with HR, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. After passing both stages, I was assigned a QA automation task, which I completed and submitted within the 3-day timeframe.
Unfortunately, I was rejected based solely on typographical errors in the README file I included with the project. There was no consideration or feedback on how I approached or designed the task itself. When I asked for more constructive feedback, I was told they didn’t have the time to provide it and declined to share anything further.
While the process started out promising, the lack of meaningful feedback and the narrow focus on minor issues rather than the actual work was disappointing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In the first screening call, I was asked what differentiates a good QA engineer from a bad one. The second interview was more technical, focusing on how I approached tasks and challenges in my previous role.
