I applied via email from one of the mall websites in my city that had a job section for stores in the mall looking to hire.
It took just over two weeks from the time I applied to receiving my first phone call to set up an interview. Interview was with the assistant manager and key holder in their store on a busy Saturday as the store didn't currently have a manager. It was very laid back and not too stressful during the questions. Only lasted 25 or so minutes. Had the interview in their back room which was small, but it was fine. The sales people were very friendly as I waited for the assistant manager to bring me to the back.
Interview questions were the standard retail questions that everyone asks. See below for the questions I was asked. They tend to like people who enjoy the outdoors as they want people to be passionate about the items they sell. We spent a decent amount of time talking about different outdoor activities in the area, which was a great way to get to know each other.
Interview was a success and i have a second interview with a manager from a different store location. In my particular situation I'd need two interviews since my store didn't have a manger, although I had read a couple reviews on glass door that some people had two interviews any ways.
