I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Porter (Manchaca, TX) in Aug 2023
Interview
Interviewed in early August for a Project Coordinator position that specifically states that "No Construction experience required" and being a recent graduate with my degree program emphasizing on Project Management and having been involved in Project Management within a different industry, I applied through a job board. They reached out wanting to schedule an in-office interview and arranged a date. I interviewed with the hiring manager for almost 45 minutes discussing the role and among other things. One of our discussion was about my experience as a recent grad trying to find work that would best use my skills in project management and I mentioned to the hiring manager how because of layoffs in various industries, there has been a trickle down effect of those in higher positions that have been laid off moving down in other positions with various companies in order to still have a job and provide for either themselves or their families hence why it has been difficult for many recent graduates to find their start. After I mentioned this, the hiring manager basically told me I am wrong because they are struggling to find work within construction and mechanical contracting when the point I brought up was the entire job market as a whole and not specific to one industry. Later in our discussion, they then ask me what have other employers told me in regards to not receiving offers, and I mentioned that they only say that they have chosen another candidate that has experience more in-line with what they do. Then they ask if there was anything specific feedback I received and I said no that is all I have received which gave me the sense that the hiring manager is not aware that employers typically do not provide in-depth feedback because of the potential of being sued for discrimination should the feedback be worded or implied in such a way. Overall, this wasn't a very meaningful experience I had with them, and I would advise anyone considering applying with them to take caution in the fact that you may be interviewed by a hiring manager that does not take time to take note of current job market trends or general hiring practices.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Porter (Austin, TX) in Jul 2021
Interview
The interview process was sufficient in learning about the company, however I wish I could have learned more about the role itself. Overall it wasn’t a difficult interview, but could have been more in depth.

Applied through university job site. Submitted resume and got a call from the project executive. Came in for a quick interview and got the offer. Short interview that gave me an overview of what the internship was going to consist of. Great interview.
