      Payroll Specialist Interview

      28 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Washington Post (Washington, DC) in Nov 2018

      Interview

Spoke with recruiter over the phone then scheduled an interview with manager and assistant manager. Not sure why there is a 30 word minimum but okay. I should be able to type what I want and move on. I arrived at the building to interview. I waited for about 25 minutes. I was greeted and taken to the interview room by assistant manager. I was questions in tandem by manager and assistant manager. in the end I was given a quiz which made me feel like a dummy. I've been asked to show my diplomas and certificates. They could ask for that. I now know that payroll applicants have to prove they are worthy of the job as top mathematicians and scientists for potty pay. The questions were situational. Make a list of payroll situations and study them. I don't think the interviewers will believe you. So practice being genuine. All payroll positions are different.
