The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (Omaha, NE)
Interview
I had high hopes for this company and was really excited when I got asked to interview. But like many have said before me - I got GHOSTED! It’s very unprofessional and makes for a terrible candidate experience. The first interview was with a recruiter and got sent to the next round right away. I thought I did really well in my second but I heard nothing from no one. I tried to contact the recruiter but no response at all. It seems that it’s becoming a common practice among companies to just ghost people, very sad indeed.

Question 1
Why TikTok? What are your salary expectations? How would you go around explaining technical process to others?
I was contacted through my e-mail for a Tik Tok interview. I had read the comments here on Glassdoor before it, so I wasn't expecting anything more than what I got.
It happened at Lark, also a company from ByteDance. It was a 15 min of the shabbiest interview I've been to. Common basis questions, no big deal.
The problem is the interviewer. She behaved aloof, robotic and inpolite. Asked me right away about my salary expectations without even talking about the position or opening up important information.
As I told a number, she kept on repeating I should look up for senior positions without listening to me. I think this is very* curious as TikTok is a worthy worldwide known platform for them to insist on bargaining money. She even used my country's economic situation to justify it - but wait - TikTok is a foreign company.
By the end, I thought I had convinced her to send me to the next round as she told me I was gonna be sent an e-mail with the available time slots for a new interview. Instead, I got an automated survey to evaluate my interview experience.
I sent 2 e-mails asking about the time slots with no response.
Funny again. I think she owns her name because she is an expert on ghosting people.
