After applying online, a recruiter reached out to me fairly quickly. The phone screening with the recruiter went well, and we were both very clear on the job role as well as compensation requirements. A follow-up video chat interview was scheduled with the Hiring Manager and a VP. The Hiring Manager showed up late to the interview, while the VP showed up on time. Additionally, the Hiring Manager pulled up another applicant's resume (I really feel sorry for the other applicant and hope that the Hiring Manager will be more respectful about their unemployment during their interview). The Hiring Manager apologized to me about the mix-up, but afterward, both the VP and Hiring Manager went into how detailed they were/focused on quality. Their statements contradicted how the interview began, so I went through the motions of the interview (mostly behavioral questions) hoping they could bounce back from that initial red flag. They did not. Clearly, they were not prepared to interview me. Once the interview concluded, I withdrew my application. Because the recruiter was fantastic, I have rated this overall experience as Neutral. Without the recruiter, this would be a Negative overall experience.
