      Senior Front End Developer Interview

      1 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Brooklyn, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UiPath (Brooklyn, NY) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Ghosted by the recruiters and the company!! Was given a HackerRank test to complete. Passed it. Had a phone screen with a recruiter from Washington who told me that the position had changed from working in Bellevue, WA to working in Brooklyn, NY. (Whaaaaaa?!!) I said okay, let's move with that role. Was then invited to hold 4 remote video interviews. Cleared my calendar to hold all interviews on same day. Did 2 interviews with a back-end developer and front-end developer. Passed the initial algorithm question but failed the CSS question on grids. The recruiter who coordinated the interviews decided to cancel the two other scheduled interviews because the last interviewer said no-go on my candidacy. The excuse I was given was that the interviewers had enough information to make a decision for next steps and that I would be informed the following week about feedback. I never heard back from them again. Even a canned response would have sufficed!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What CSS would you write to handle the following scenarios: show a 4 column grid at viewport >800 px, 2 column grid at viewport > 500 px and < 800px, and a single column at viewport < 500px.
