I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Nations in Aug 2015
Interview
It took almost 7 months to get back to me on my application. I received an email from the Executive Office of my department to schedule a competency-based phone interview. There were 3 people on the other side of the line, and they asked 3 behavioral questions that can easily be answered if you prepare for it. There are thousands of websites with sample questions and guidelines. I received a follow up email that same day asking to confirm availability. 5 days later I received an offer to start in 2 weeks in New York, which was a bit stressful since you have to move countries (generally).
