      Customer Success Manager Interview

      8 Dec 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Upper Hand in Sept 2020

      Interview

Applied online and hiring manager for the role reached out to secure timing for an interview. I replied within four hours of my availability over the next four business days (a weekend divided these days). Late on the third day, the hiring manager replied suggesting that they would send over an invite for a time the next day (which was now unfortunately occupied). I replied to the meeting maker with this information and offered up my new availability and ultimately was able to set a time for the (video) interview. Upon starting the interview, the hiring manager did not turn the camera on, and made no effort to do so until I asked if they planned on turning it on. The response was that they hadn't done their hair that day, but if I would like they could turn it on. We continued on with the interview - the questions were fairly standard: tell me about your background/work history, what are your strengths/weaknesses, etc. At the conclusion of the interview, the hiring manager mentioned that they would follow with a worksheet (essentially, "what would you do to retain a client that has shown lagging use in our product?") that she would like completed by the end of the next business day so that she could go over it and compare to the other interviewees. The interview concluded midday, but the worksheet was not sent until close of business, leaving me only (roughly) 24 hours to meet the deadline. I elected not to move forward at this point and went with another offer at a different organization.
