      Product Manager Interview

      15 Jul 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Verizon Connect (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2018

      Interview

*Applied Online. *Received an email from recruiter 30 days later (she being from the Telogis division). *Phone screen 2 days later where I summarized in reverse chronological order what it is I do coming from related industry that supports Verizon. *Made it to next screening, this time with the hiring manager who gave me a more in depth screening and explained the business as well as the current state, which I was in agreement with and wanted to proceed. *Notified recruiter I was still interested and was pleased with the hiring manager's screening and discussion. *Received email invitation for a face to face interview at a different city (75 minutes away) than the posting initially was advertised. Accepted interview. *Met with a Director, Hiring Manager and another Product Manager. *Interview was good excluding with the Director. He seemed more concerned with getting his catered lunch before all the sandwiches were gone and our portion was about under 10 minutes of discussion. *Another interviewer stated they were impressed with my background and would hire me if they could, however they did not have any say in that process, implying we would be working side by side. *Interview closed with discussion that the job location would be changing to this other city but topic of salary was avoided. *I expressed dissatisfaction that the location changed, however followed up with the team and recruiter stating that I was still interested and wanted to proceed. *Interviewer who had always responded to voice calls and emails previously, stopped all communication and ghosted me. *Received an automated response a month later from the applicant tracking system stating the position was closed.

      Product Manager Interview

      30 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Verizon Connect

      Interview

It was the slowest interview process ever. I don't know how many times I had to follow up but it was so many times that I lost count. I had one interview per month, one on the phone with the hiring manager and 4 interviews for the on-site. At the end of the interview process, they picked the internal candidate and as everyone knows, the internal person generally gets the job
