I initially had to record myself answering set questions and upload them in a one-way interview before having my answers reviewed, followed by a phone screening of sorts with the HR department and being invited to an online interview with two team members.
The interview itself was fine, the questions were very standard and the interviewers themselves were friendly and inviting. However, after being assured I would hear news within a week or so (regardless if it was good or bad), I am disappointed to say it's going on 6 weeks now and I have heard nothing. I have reached out to the recruitment team to request feedback as I don't have the interviewers' contact information, but I have been ignored.
It's really frustrating to have prepared for an interview, conducted an awkward one-way process and set time aside out of my schedule to do both, only to be ghosted by a well known company. It shows not just a lack of professionalism but a lack of compassion and respect for candidates, and I find it laughable that nobody in the hiring process could take 5 minutes out of their day to at the very least shoot off an automated rejection email to myself and the other unsuccessful candidates.
Anyone preparing to interview for Walker Books, if you hear nothing after a couple of weeks, stop waiting and anticipating news, the interviewers and recruitment team can't be bothered to complete their duties, apparently.
