      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at WebPresented (Columbus, OH) in Oct 2019

      Interview

2 phone screening interviews, meet with COO, then met with all mgmt plus members of the dev team. Combination of technical questions, having me explain about my experience, how I work with teams, challenging/left field questions that I had to answer without thinking

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at WebPresented (Columbus, OH)

      Interview

There was four interviews total. The first one was HR not a technical interview, just talking about the company as a whole. The second interview was with the tech lead who also mostly talked about the company but also the culture, and environment. The third interview was with Senior software engineer who was phenomenal. He asked a lot of technical questions but not basic definitions that you could easily look up on the internet that doesn’t show your programming skills but if you know how to memorize definitions. The fourth interview was with the CEO and I was shocked by his inability to perform an interview. He is the CEO but also asking questions on C# basic definitions and new technology trick questions yet the new technologies couldn’t be used on their archaic systems. I didn’t receive an offer but I wouldn’t of taken it if they had. He puts people down to make himself seem superior and I am not interested in working for a company like that.

Firstly, thanks for your feedback and we are sorry to hear that your interview with WebPresented left you feeling disappointed. Our interviews are intentionally challenging and some people can find them somewhat stressful. We seek out employees who are excited and challenged by being slightly outside of their comfort zone; that's where the fun stuff happens. In our experience it is much better to determine if the skills and personality of a potential employee are well-suited to our organization before we extend any offer of employment. Regarding the CEO asking technical questions, it is ingrained in our company to be passionate about technology and curious about new trends on topics such as C#. This starts myself (the CEO) and filters down through every level of the company. As we explained to you in the personal email that we sent after the interview, the intent was not to trick you, rather to see how you responded to a topic that was unfamiliar to your current skill set. We wish you all the best for the future and sincerely hope you found a position that suits your skills, experience and expectations. James Gerdes, President and CEO
