Week 1: After applying, was contacted by coordinator to schedule a meeting with a manager to discuss the role. Week 2: Met with manager, pleasant discussion. Discussed the role/team, team interactions, and hiring process (coding, system design, presentation, behavioral). Was told I would be contacted by coordinator for next steps to set up interviews. Week 3: Did not hear from coordinator so I reached out. They responded that they will have updates soon. Week 4: Coordinator reached out and we scheduled interviews for the following week. Week 5: Morning of my interview I received an email stating that the role was filled and thus my interview(s) have been canceled. I am all for companies being selective on the talent they choose to recruit but I do believe it was unfair that the role was filled whilst interviews were ongoing. Furthermore, canceling the interview the day it was supposed to take place is rather inconsiderate as I could have used that proposed time for something more productive. The people I interacted with were pleasant so I imagine the work culture is positive, I just think the hiring process should be reevaluated.
