After applying, if they're interested in hiring you they will call you to schedule an interview. If they are still interested after that interview you will be hired on for five training shifts in which you'll make $15/hr at, you are basically hired at this point but it's a way to protect both them and you if it doesn't work out to market them as "testing/training shifts." After your fifth shift if you've done well they'll onboard you into your position.
