I interviewed with a South African recruiter from Zoom (parent company of Workvivo) Ive been fascinated with Workvivo, their product and their culture. I was itching to get into this company so I applied for a Strategic CX Manager position in October 2024. I was not contacted until late January 2025 by the recruiter. He explained he's now recruiting for the role as the previous recruiter left the company. This was an initial phone screen. I thought it was a good discussion. He explained I was a great fit for the role and he was going to send me an NDA for the next interview round with the hiring manager. He will be in touch later that day and schedule the next interview shortly after. Days turned to weeks and I heard nada. I reached out multiple times with no response. After 2 weeks he finally DID respond telling me that Workvivo was close to making an offer to someone else. Ok, thats fine, it happens. I was just a little upset by what he stated to me, followed with non-responses. It is looking a bit unprofessional. He stated Workvivo will have more openings in the future and he will let me know. 1 day later and I see the same role (Strat CX Manager) posted on LinkedIn, brand new, by him. "Odd" i think, He told me it was close to being filled. Maybe just a fluke.. I'll applying for it again anyway and keep an eye out for more roles. A week goes by and another role DOES open up for CSM, very similar. This was not the same as the first but it is new, same office, possibly the same team. I reach out to him again. He kinda brushes me off and tells me to not go through him and to apply online. Well, at least he's responding. I apply online, so now I'm in the running for 2 roles the recruiter said I was a perfect fit for. Still waiting for the 2nd round interview. Im still feeling pretty positive. I then reach out to the hiring Manager (recruiter supplied his name on our initial screen). I expressed my excitement and enthusiasm, explain I applied for both roles and expressed my interest to be considered for both, outlining how my skills fit the role 200%. That next day, at 3am, Im rejected via email for both roles... 3am? 3am is work hours for South Africa. The recruiter....who once told me i was a great fit, who then led me on, who then ignored my emails, who then told me to apply for other roles ....now rejects me and thinks Im not a good candidate. Its by far the most frustrating, insulting recruitment process Ive dealt with in my life. In no way does this reflect on Workvivo as this particular recruiter works for their parent Zoom. It was very unprofessional and I just felt "used" after the situation. If you do happen to interview for Workvivo and interview with a South African gentleman, be aware that you may have a very bad experience.
