I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Xantrion (Washington, DC) in May 2025
Interview
The interview process was disappointing and felt disrespectful of candidates’ time.
The initial screening interview was scheduled for 45 minutes, which already felt excessive for a first-round recruiter call, but it ended up lasting over an hour. The recruiter also joined about 10 minutes late. During the interview, there were moments where the recruiter became distracted responding to internal chats while I was answering questions, and I had to repeat parts of my response because he missed them entirely.
Despite that, the interview itself went very well. I answered both the behavioral and technical questions confidently and was told the next step would be a 60–90 minute assessment. I completed the assessment shortly after receiving it.
The next day, I received a rejection email stating that the concern was my commute distance. This was frustrating because my city/location is clearly listed at the top of my resume and could have been evaluated before moving me through a lengthy interview and assessment process. The stated commute estimate in the rejection email was also significantly exaggerated compared to the actual drive time and my prior experience regularly commuting to DC-area client sites.
Overall, the process felt poorly coordinated and lacking consideration for the amount of time candidates are expected to invest.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the interview process did not meet your expectations. We understand that candidates invest significant time preparing for and participating in interviews and assessments. We regret that parts of your experience felt frustrating and inconsistent.
We especially appreciate the specific feedback regarding interview timing, attentiveness during the conversation, and how commute considerations were evaluated later in the process. That feedback will be shared internally so other candidates for this role have a better experience. Thanks again for the feedback, and we wish you the best in your continued search.
Multiple stages consisting of phone, video and in person. Very respectful of my time yet rigorous to the point where you can tell their entire staff is qualified. Definitely recommend this company highly.

Question 1
Tested technical skills using questions and hands on tests.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Xantrion (Peabody, MA) in Jan 2020
Interview
Dragged me through four weeks of interviews including a flight across the country only to sit on their hands for a week and then give me a rejection with vague reasoning. They’re too picky and will waste your time.
I am sorry the process got so drawn out. I would find that frustrating too, especially since you ultimately didn't get the job. Normally that doesn't happen, so I investigated. I learned there were unusual circumstances which caused the extra interviews and I am confident your situation won't be repeated anytime soon. Thank you for helping us keep our interviewing process on track.
