They want you to use the STAR method when answering all their interview questions. The questions are mostly situational ones to see how you would deal or solve it. There are 3 people on the interview panel.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Yarra Ranges Shire Council (Melbourne) in Apr 2023

They contacted me after two weeks of my application for a phone screening. Then, we arranged a time and date for the interview. Interview was pretty average, however they didn’t get back to me after two months and were pretty unprofessional after the interview process.

Standard Interview process for planning officer role. Invited to 45-60min interview with a panel of 3 members. 30 minute focus on behavioural questions (approximately 6 questions) and then 15-20min planning application assessment.
