I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ZoomInfo (Vancouver, WA) in Feb 2025
Interview
Was initially denied the position after 2 interviews based on the feedback that I did not speak to my athletic career enough. After some back and forth with the recruiter regarding the denial, he expressed to me that he did not agree with the hiring team's decision based on their feedback and was able to get me a second chance to redeem myself.
In this third interview I planed to touch on their initial concerns and the feedback that I was given and instead of discussing their concerns they just had me redo the interview as though it hadn't happened which caught me off guard. Due to this I had to work into the conversation their feedback as to why I was denied in the first place. Although I possess and spoke to the exact qualities and values of the strong candidate that they described, I was denied based on my performance in their roleplay exercise. These are skills that are supposed to be taught in their onboarding. Too intensive for a entry level position.
It felt like they didn't actually want to hire anybody given the feedback on their decision the first and second time. Recruiter was awesome and very reassuring throughout the whole process. Although I did exactly what he said I needed to do ie: study, watch videos, know what the company does, talk about how much you want a career in sales, speak on you character I was still denied. As much as I want a career in sales and I have such a strong desire to work for ZoomInfo, I left the third interview feeling very turned off towards the team and the company as a whole. It honestly felt like a bad joke.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you handle rejection and negative feedback?
Long interview, a few questions, but there is a roleplay involved. Be ready to sell and run through the roleplay, ask targeted and specific questions that bring you to the pain point.
Enjoyed the interview process, pretty standard. Nice people, seemed like they genuinely wanted to give you an opportunity. Gave me feedback also afterwards which is alway helpful moving forward with future applications, would apply again.
Simple interview process over two separate steps. They're hiring a lot of entry level reps and they don't scrutinize heavily. Easy interview with management and the recruiter communicated quickly. That's it
