Interview starts with HR meeting. It was a 20-30 min meeting. Details about company, recruitment process and work are shared with me. Also, I was asked to talk about myself, my work experience and salary expectation.
After that meeting, I was invited to technical meeting with a person who works as Senior Frontend Developer (if I don't understand wrong). I was asked about technical questions, specifically about Frontend Technologies and more about React. It was also good for me.
As the last phase, I was invited a full day interview which is named as Day-0. I was asked to schedule a day with the company. It would be hard for me if I didn't have a holiday in weak, but I was lucky and I had. So, I didn't ask a day off from my company, and scheduled it. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, interview was organised as online. I was given an end to end project to complete. To be honest, I didn't expect that, and it was surprising for me. It was written that "challenge might be containing much things to complete in limited time", but I successfully completed it with one missing part due to misunderstanding of requirements, but it was a small issue and not a big problem.
Through Day-0, I had 4 meetings. First was a coffee break with people from company, second was a meeting with tech. guys from the company, and I was asked about my experience. It was kind of another technical interview, and was straightforward for me. Third was the pure technical interview about the case I have completed, with the same Frontend Developer I met before. I was asked about what I have done, and we go through both working application and my implementation. I was said that everything looks fine, and I was not asked about a specific technical question. As the last meeting, I have met with the HR person, and I was asked for feedback. I shared my thoughts about process, and told that it was fine overall, even though it was a tiring day for me.
Same eve, I had a call with the same HR person, and told that I have all good feedback with anyone I have met, but they have decided to not continue with me. I was said that I would be a good fit for the team, but my experience is considered as more "Mid-level" instead of senior, and it would be better to continue with a person who is "Senior".
Actually, I tried to keep everything as simple as possible, because the case given me was very "straightforward", and even a design wouldn't shared with me. Only a "pencil-drawing-like" template was provided for me. So, I thought "I should build a product that can be easily improved", so I didn't even use a ui library, and kept everything as simple as possible. But I think I would try to impress them with some visually good ui, Idk.
In overall, it was a great process for me, and I am glad to have that interview.
Thank you CausaLens!
And special thanks to the person who I called as HR :)) You were so kind, and helpful through process. I don't know whether it is good to share names here, so I don't.
