RSUI Group underwrites a variety of commercial property/casualty specialty insurance products, including professional liability, directors and officers (D&O) liability, and inland marine policies. It sells its products wholesale to brokers who then sell to clients ranging from Fortune 500 firms to not-for-profit organizations. RSUI Group does business through RSUI Indemnity Company and Landmark American Insurance Company. In 2003 Alleghany Corporation acquired the company, formerly known as Resurgens Specialty Underwriting, from Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group and renamed the unit RSUI Group.
