Rho Capital Partners may be named after the 17th letter of the Greek alphabet, but the private equity firm doesn't live in the past. Through Rho Ventures, it invests in new technology companies in the IT, communications, new media, health care, and energy sectors. It has financed some 200 companies in the US and Canada since its founding in 1981, many of which have gone public. Rho Fund Investors (RFI) invests in early stage venture capital funds in the US, Europe, and India. Altogether, Rho Capital Partners have more than $2 billion under management. The company was founded by Managing Partners Robert Osterrieth and Joshua Ruch.
