Jonathan Ruffer founded the firm because he saw people being poorly served by the investment industry. Ruffer has been built on the desire to provide a service, and performance, that put the client first.
Investing is not a game. A lot is at stake. Our successes and failures affect the lives of our clients. They are putting enormous trust in us; we see it as our duty to serve their best interests.
Among other things, this means being frank about risks, open about mistakes, and transparent about what can go wrong.
All-weather investors
We are ‘all-weather’ investors. This means we seek positive returns, come rain or shine in financial markets.
Different clients use Ruffer’s investment strategy in different ways. For many individuals, Ruffer forms the majority of their investable assets – they are seeking solid investment returns over the medium to long-term, without wishing to take the risk that comes with the market rollercoaster
For others, the Ruffer strategy is complementary to other investments.
We seek to be responsible investors, integrating environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues into our investment process.
