Pros

Opportunity for broad range of exposure to different parts of the business if you have a willingness to take on new challenges. There is a willingness to let people advance new ideas. Generally good camaraderie.

Cons

Can be very political - especially in terms of advancement and bonuses. People who go farthest are the best self-promoters which is a shame as often good talent is overlooked.

Pros

The training was second to none and the sense of camaraderie was tremendous. Young guys were given responsibility at an early stage of their career

Cons

Lack of clarity about internal decisions and company strategy.

Pros

Well remunerated (though may be not market leading) - but with a decent work life balance and generally good people. Genuinely international business and has more of a corporate infrastructure than most Private Equity Houses. Thus there is some scope to see how a bigger business works - on the flip side it can be harder as an investor to have direct input into how the company as a whole is run

Cons

Can seem beaurocratic compared to some private equity houses - but not excessively so (and I believe this has got better since I left)
