A Safe: Where accountability goes to die (but BLAME THRIVES)
Pros
Amazing food in the canteen, but doesn't really make up for the lack of support from your line manager or the sheet toxicity of the place!
Cons
If you’ve ever wondered what a workplace would look like if accountability were optional and blame shifting were a core leadership competency then A Safe has you covered. The Operations Director has perfected the art of strategic invisibility whenever her senior team drops the ball. It’s impressive, really — no matter what goes wrong, it’s somehow always someone else’s job to fix it. A modern miracle. The Operations Director also uses her favourite management tool, commonly referred to as the Blame Game™, on a daily basis and with great enthusiasm and not just by her, but by all her team – Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager to name but a few. When her area underperforms, the priority isn’t fixing the issue — it’s finding the nearest person to pin it on. Inspirational stuff. The culture is powered by a charming mix of “knowledge is power” secrecy and who can shout the loudest leadership techniques. Forget collaboration — volume and gatekeeping are the real currencies here. If you enjoy environments where information is hoarded like treasure and meetings feel like competitive shouting matches, you’ll fit right in. Respect? That’s adorable. Far too many people prefer the more efficient method - talking over you. Why listen when you can bulldoze? It’s a bold approach to teamwork, but they’re committed to it. And then there are the owners, who have a clear preference for “yes men” — people who nod enthusiastically, never question anything, and definitely never highlight problems. If you accidentally show independent thought or raise concerns, don’t worry: the business will suddenly discover creative reasons why you’re no longer a “cultural fit.” Efficiency at its finest. If you’re looking for a workplace where competence is valued, voices are respected, and leadership takes responsibility… you may want to keep looking. But if you enjoy chaos, blame, and a leadership team allergic to accountability, A Safe is most definitely your Utopia.
