Pros
Good members/customers and relatively mission driven. Most people were working to help make the place better for members. Healthcare and benefits package was healthy - retirement plan unheard of and fantastic Good location and nice people in general
Cons
Absolutely no growth opportunities for most roles. It was very difficult to get promoted. Though they were expanding, they were only adding lowest level jobs and not giving lower employees a chance to shine. All initiatives were lead by managers or above. Coordinators or specialists were never allowed to take the lead on anything unless you had a cool manager that would do it on the sly... which you then still didn't get credit from the "folks that mattered" for a job well done. Lost of a lot of talent from good people that simply wanted a chance to do something more because they wouldn't let them. Vacation plan was the worst I'd ever seen. They changed it during my last year, but the only people that got more vacation time in the new plan within the next year or so was C-Level. C-Level and other Executive was hit or miss. Some were great and wanting to truly lead and help others grow, others were vindictive and toxic and felt threatened by other's successes.
