A Company in Decline

Pros

- Colleagues: the majority of my co-workers are fantastic people and highly competent. Frankly, they could do much better than Agio.

Cons

I’ve worked at Agio for some time and the difference between when I first joined and today is very stark. - Weak Leadership and Toxic Culture: Upper management try to portray every major shortcoming as positive, this gives the impression that they are completely out of touch. The company simply doesn’t practice what they preach; #speakup is nonsense if you ignore the feedback from employees. When staff voice legitimate concerns they’re dismissed because upper management are over reliant on analytics, that don’t reflect the reality of the situation for ground level workers. - Understaffing and Poor Employee Retention: Again, management try to paint this in a positive light, suggesting it’s an expected trend due to the pandemic, or that the employees who are leaving are doing so because they were ‘low performers’ or they ‘didn’t understand the requirements of their role’. However staff at the ground level can see this is not that case and that many excellent colleagues are leaving under circumstances that are entirely preventable. - Lack of internal opportunities - Weak benefits by UK/EU standards - Unresponsive HR team - Empty promises - Uncompetitive salaries - Poor work-life balance I could go on but others have already said it.

Pros

Remote working, good people to work with.

Cons

2-3 years ago this was one of the best companies to work for. Great culture, positive attitude and great responsiveness from the management. However end of last year everything went down hill very very quickly. Middle management only seem to show their face, make promises and then disappear, immediate management are quite clueless and yet somehow manage to micromanage. There is no more #communicatefearlessly or #bebetterthanyourjob attitude. One of the most important issues is border line bullying in the workplace from the customers, while company won't stand up for their employees - "just need to grow a thicker skin". Pay is rather average at most, with virtually non existent pay rises, to keep up with the rate of inflation and raising cost of living. Promotion is also non existent, even when you follow CEOs advise and approach your managers with positive attitude showing the skills and expertise that you can bring to the table for the new role - managers acknowledge this and disappear with very bare minimum communication. HR/Payroll is extremely poor in terms of communication and constant pay issues.
