Pros

The culture is great and the tools used are modern which makes it a great place to take a step in your career.

Cons

The leadership and decision-making has been mediocre and due to this there has been significant changes. The business is losing partners so there is a lot of uncertainty for long term career potential.

Thank you for your feedback. I agree that our culture- and more importantly, the people who make it are pretty great too! AIR MILES has recently undergone significant changes as we look at how to best position ourselves for future success. We understand that change is difficult and can cause uncertainty because it takes time before you start to see positive affects from it. With that said, we feel confident that our new strategy and structure and hope our Associates are excited about the future of AIR MILES. Career development and training remain crucial to our culture as well as our goal of remaining one of Canada’s Best Employer for Young People, and Best Employers for Today’s Youth. While we continue to focus in this area, we’re leveraging feedback from our Associates captured from our annual Associate Engagement Survey to better understand how we can improve and take action against that feedback. Our quarterly talent routines between Human Resources and Leadership ensure we’re always focusing on ways to grow and develop our Associates in an effort to help their reach their greatest potential at AIR MILES. I liked the people and culture.

It's a marketing company and a lot of the decisions regarding technology are directionless and made by senior management who are business/marketing people

Digital transformation is an ongoing journey for us at AIR MILES. Our focus so far has been on technical infrastructure, the systems that are fueling our digital transformation and the operations behind it. Our new Cloud-based platform will focus on quality and security while providing massive data scalability that supports up to 100 times of our current customer base. This year we are creating a new career-levelling framework so that we can provide even more movement and progression opportunities to our Associates. In 2020, 41% of our vacancies were filled by internal transfers and promotions. That’s something we’re really proud of and will continue to prioritize. Yes, people come and go…and sometimes come back to us again. Attrition can be healthy for an organization. It’s hard to see good people leave for a different opportunity, but we love sharing the stories of those who come back to us after gaining new experiences and skillsets. In regards to compensation, market data helps us ensure that our salary ranges remain competitive and our Total Rewards team reviews market changes regularly making updates to our salary ranges as necessary to keep us competitive.
