A lot of potential, but can't win with poor leadership

Pros

Great products. Great junior employees who are willing to work hard and really want to create a successful start-up. The management team has corporate experience, so they know how the industry works and have valuable insights to share. The pay and benefits are decent (excellent if you are a senior employee and favored by the CEO.)

Cons

It's all about politics and optics. The reviews on here were orchestrated by leadership to make this look like a great company with normal start-up issues, for example. However, none of it is real. The leadership team is prideful and talks about employees behind their backs. You can feel it when you walk into the office - everyone is on edge and there's no trust. It's sad, because the brand has a lot of potential.

Despite countless reminders and requests of Glassdoor, Glassdoor does not identifiy the correct company with this page. This page is a catch-all for any "aloha" named company globally and should not be regarded as accurate in any way.

Pros

Office is pretty (but falling apart). Location is near Union Square. Free lunch on Friday (if you can get any/like to eat seeds & leaves). Filtered water in pantry? It's also maybe impressive that this company has survived for so long despite being such a mess for so long?

Cons

Everyone is miserable. The leadership team behaves like children fighting for the attention of an under-qualified and absent father. So they lie and they demean everyone else around them. There are mentally questionable people in the company who are decision-makers. The gender politics of senior management are disgusting, with the men being misogynist and the women a disgrace to feminism. The products themselves have constant quality issues and complications. The founder constantly raises funds for the unscrupulous purpose of forcing people into free trial subscriptions that they do not want. You will feel like a lesser version of yourself by working here. You will hate humanity and lose hope in life. You will be overworked for the empty purpose of a terrible business model within poor organization and culture. Do not join. If you are an employee, quit.

Horrific

Pros

It's hard to find any redemption. However, there are free (unhealthy) catered lunches on Fridays (even though they don't even have enough money for printer ink). Also, some employees seem to have unlimited vacation days - but this doesn't apply to everyone.

Cons

The financial turmoil at ALOHA has a nasty domino effect. Employees are miserable and are in constant fear of termination. To call it a bad culture would be a massive understatement. Management is in a perpetual panic mode because the money is always running out and they see the end is near. There is no leadership or direction. No one knows what the plan is. Their products don't sell and the company is a mess. It will probably shut down soon, so all of this could be irrelevant.
