Pros

The staff are all nice people.

Cons

Not enough pay, too much work expectation for the pay, had to work two jobs to make ends meet, and the training is hit or miss. Good curriculum and cause, but the constant turnover (due to tiny paychecks) stunts the ability to grow as a company because you're constantly starting over. The clients hate the constant new workers as well, so they end up dropping out and missing opportunities for further help.

Pros

The work you do with adults with special needs is very rewarding. Many days you will come home from a long day and tell yourself that you did good, meaningful work today.

Cons

The pay is terrible! $12/hr for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; sometimes seeing 3 clients at a time. Many weeks you will see 20+ clients/week. Employees are expected to work overtime most days, take no lunch breaks, and complete paperwork, often after a long workday. Know also that if an employee is terminated, the company will not pay any accrued vacation. Yes; this is legal, because of a statement to this effect is in the employee handbook.
