Pros

The clients, shift availability, overtime pay

Cons

Extreme neglect occurs at large percentage of residential homes. The clients deserve better than ability plus staff. The non profit will hire anyone as long as they pass their first drug test and are willing to work for low wages. This leads to horrible workers who are not fit to take care of persons who are disabled. Clients are left on the toilet for hours. Workers lie about showering and feeding clients. Workers clock in for night shifts, leave, and come back in the morning to clock out. It is not uncommon for workers to steal medication and food from residential homes with no remorse. Paperwork is forged every month. There are roach infested homes that clients will live the rest of their lives in withering away. It’s heartbreaking. Housemanagers are overworked, under paid, and under appreciated. It seems the biggest concern of the organization is how to keep the lower end employees pushed down. Recently there is a new issue of hard drug use. A house manager has been discovered to be using a hard drug from being reported to HR and failed a drug test. Due to his relationship with someone else in the organization he will not be let go. He is a danger to clients and staff.

Pros

The clients are provided a nice facility for Dayhab services, that they will be taken away from soon.

Cons

The DSP staff at Dayhab don't do anything. Some of the ones that have been there for up to three years make fun of the clients and push them into having behaviors because they think it's funny. Its verbal abuse and nothing is done about it. The DSP only get paid $8.00 for the work they do which is not okay because some workers are stuck doing all of the work while the others sit on their butt doing nothing. The nurse that works at the Dayhab services doesn't know what she's doing and knows less about first aid and nursing than I do as a caregiver for two years. Its unprofessional and there is constant drama that the higher ups just let happen and sometimes join in.
