Pros

- You learn a lot during the 12 week course

Cons

- If you leave before two years you have to pay a (very large) compensation to Academic Work - You have no say in where you'll be working or what you'll be doing - You won't necessarily be doing any programming at the job after the course - Nobody cares about your career development or well-being, only about the revenues you generate for the company

Pros

1. Easy way to get a job in Sweden, specially for immigrants- since it is very hard 2. The account manager in charge of ones contract is very nice and attentive always helping and answering questions 3. They plan activities for the consultants, most people working are young so is fun to meet other consultants 4. Have access to good companies- I see it as a way to have experience for some moths nothing else

Cons

1. The salary is super low. for a 4 year experience as finance assistant/ secretary, administrative they pay 120 kr the hour! this includes a bachelor degree and in most cases even a master. 2. There is no room for negotiation of your contract or salary and it is clear they are making money out of low salaries- its also due to the overload of non Swedish looking for jobs in english 3. Unstable contracts - this is the new rule in the job market in Sweden. The company hires one of this intermediary companies and then gives small contracts to a consultant. Is a terrible system and one can only wish for the day this is banned. 4. Sometimes the communication on feedback and happy messages from the account manager seem too much- its like they are forcing them to do this. it kind of feels like one of this always smile rules of fast food chain restaurants. 5. The company has a small project in Africa and the employees visit the site sometimes. I can only think this is just to compensate in their minds for the low salaries they pay in Sweden. at least they do something.

Hi and thank you for your comments, First of all I´d like to say that I´m happy to hear that we´ve been able to help you find a suitable job here in Sweden. It´s of course nice to hear that you like your consultant manager and that you see a possibility that he/she might help you get in contact with other interesting employers. Regarding the salary it´s difficult for me to comment on this specific matter/job as I don´t have much information about it. What I can say is that we always strive to offer fair wages according to the experience required for the specific job. My recommendation to you is to talk to your consultant manager in order to get a better understanding and motivation of the salary. Hopefully the two of you can have a good discussion regarding this in order to agree on a way forward. We want you to feel happy about your conditions and to be a part of Academic Work. I wish you the best of luck. Best Regards Jens Nordquist Operations Manager
