    I worked at Accion full-time

    Pros

Overall Accion is a really good place to work with competitive salaries for the non-profit industry. The culture is great, and they have amazing opportunities for career development.

    Cons

There’s a few managers in the Latin America team that are we’ll known for being terrible at people management. They have even referred to their subordinates as “slaves”. Several people have quit their job because of the harassment from these managers, and despite expressing this on their exit interview, nothing has been done to change the management team.

I have been working at Accion full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Support from top down! The Accion East NY CEO is a true gentleman and a great example for the company. Great environment and culture. Everyone is committed to the mission - regardless of level. Lots of transparency, updates on work and future plans. I feel very much an important part of the team. Great flexibility. "Accionistas" (what employees are called) are treated very well. Snacks, coffee, tea is ordered frequently. Accomplishments are celebrated along with birthdays, holidays and special events. Lots of work life/home life balance. Fully covered benefits plans.

    Cons

Non profit so watching the dollar is important. Downtown location is not the nicest area. Office is somewhat cramped in work spaces. Some employees take advantage of flexibility and create additional stress for others in balancing work. Since the company is so small, no real opportunities for advancing in your area - you'd have to move to another department, but since people don't really leave too often, the moves are not so easy to wait for.
