Pros

- Working with the most talented people in data - Away days - Great knowledge sharing via blogs, talks and half hour huddles - Advanced in-house technical framework - Very responsive support team - The occasional office beer - Fridge full of snacks and drinks (when somebody keeps it stocked) - Plenty of community events - Supplied with great equipment (laptop, mouse, bag headset, jacket and other thing

Cons

- Not much project work; in the 15 weeks I was at Adatis, I was on project for 3 weeks - A lot of misunderstandings between how the role and work life was explained vs what was expected - Only 23 days annual leave - Only 3% pension employer contribution - Salary lower than average when comparing similar job title / level / location - Lacks the quality company feel, for example we were expected to answer the company phone, respond to the doorbell, restock the fridges, take out the rubbish bag - The company claims they do not monitor our working week yet we need to complete time sheets detailing every hour including non-billable work when not on project - Although the contract states that travel and longer hours are required, it does not identify at what point a request becomes unreasonable. They deemed it was reasonable for me to leave home at 5:40am to reach a client for 9:00am. I understand this may be OK for some, but not for me.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We pride ourselves on putting People First so are genuinely disappointed when things didn’t work out for someone at Adatis. We are grateful for the acknowledgement and compliments you had about our team and the culture. It’s a shame you did not get to experience much time on projects whilst here, particularly as this is not typical, but unfortunately if new joiners have specific skill sets, there is not always a project immediately available to utilise these skills, which is why we give all employees the time and flexibility to be able to learn and expand their skill set, to allow them to be T shaped and comfortable with all aspects of the Microsoft Data Analytics Stack. At Adatis we all take an equal share (and pride) in looking after and running the office, we’re sorry you feel this means we lack quality – hopefully, all the free snacks and drinks make up for this. 😊 To address your points around time sheeting and working hours; as a consultancy, we need to ensure we have visibility of all the activities being worked on by consultants, whether billable or not. This is in no way to “keep track” but rather so we can analyse where time is spent and make business decisions accordingly. Travel is a part of being a consultant, and we always try to balance this out with lieu time when travel is excessive. Finally, just a couple of clarifications – our minimum annual leave is 24 days increasing by a day every year of service, and our pension contribution is 4% (along with our life assurance, profit share bonus and many other perks) Once again, thank you for your review, and we wish you the best for the future.
