      Incredible product, not the right strategy or culture to take advantage of the opportunity

      *Exciting, transformational product *Some really interesting, intelligent people dotted across the business *Incredible market opportunity *Great customer base

      Cons

      *Truly horrendous culture, driven by the CEO and CRO. The CRO especially has wild mood swings, leaving you forever in anxiety as to which version of him you are going to get. It is not motivating. I know first-hand that several people left as a result of him. People live in perennial fear of being humiliated at QBRs. The CEO has surrounded himself with ‘yes’ men. Questioning the strategy or messaging is actively discouraged. *All male board, management team is almost entirely male (0 out of 8 most senior people are female). Horrendous lack of diversity. This shows through in group think and the company culture. *Lack of adaptability. Despite the company not hitting objectives for several years, there has been very little change in strategy or approach. There is barely even recognition of the situation. Success is always 6 months away. *Not a learning culture. If you make a mistake (or even are just perceived to make a mistake), you are made an example of in front of peers and told you are doing a bad job rather given support & guidance to improve.

Even though it is not consistent with what we hear from the vast majority of Aeranauts, we take it seriously. Our executive team, including our CEO and CRO, strongly believe in living Aera’s values, including but not limited to Inclusion and Accountability, are very passionate about our vision, and recognize that we all play an important part in bringing this vision to life.       Great team, and a culture designed to help you grow your career

      Pros

      Wasn't sure about joining a relative start-up, but right from the start (onboarding) the quality of people and energy for everyone to succeed was evident. Only place I have worked where the sales team works together and there are no overpowering egos. Lots of companies talk about Values, but at Aera I have always felt like they are kept at the forefront of what we do and how we do it. Exec team clearly care, a lot, and make time to be available including travelling to support where there is a good reason.

The UK is an important market for Aera and we have extremely talented staff located there. If we continue to grow and expand the business in line with our ambitions, adding a physical office in the UK would certainly be under consideration.
