Pros
FTO offering is fairly good - 23 days to start and then goes up from there (I believe 30 days is the max) plus banking holidays Flexibility can be a pro - depending on your manager. Some are great, some are very 'old school' and you have to work your 9-5. Individuals within teams (excluding higher up managers/VPs) generally across the company all seem to get along VERY well with one another. I thoroughly enjoy my coworkers - and my boss. The company has a very solid business and appears that it will continue to be successful going forward from a pure 'money making' standpoint.
Cons
Overall benefits need updating/modernization. The company claims it wants to retain/attract top talent yet there is a lot of young talent at the low manager level leaving. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Overall base pay is slightly lower than the industry standard (likely given the Grand Forks roots and relatively low COL there) but that doesn't pan out well in the larger markets such as AZ and MN where competition for employees is high and top talent commands top dollars. Makes it hard to extend offers to employees and keep good employees around for more than 2-3 years. Seems to be a trend of very low Cost of Living adjustments only the last few years while the company keeps posting about 'record breaking profits for a record 3 straight years.' At some point you need to cycle that money back into employees and not just keep trying to appease shareholders. Parental leave for fathers is a joke at best (2 weeks) and for mothers is on the low end - definitely need some updating here if they expect to attract any sort of young talent. 401k match is fairly standard 3% dollar for dollar match, next 3% (up to 6%) is matched at 50 cents on the dollar. Nothing bad or great about it. Back office/support staff are consistently over worked and not supported with the tools to do their jobs. Many antiquated processes/software that require a lot of manual entry and check back review as part of standard processes. They could really use some updating on software to better tools. Company is fairly small, if you aren't part of the 'in crowd' with a certain handful of people at the top or play office politics, with mid-level managers - good luck moving up in the company. Play the game or get stuck where you are at.
