Pros

Coworkers and you get to live in fabulous Las Vegas. You get a core value coin.

Cons

President of the company Steve Hoffa. He is literally putting holes in the boat this company is trying to sail on. 70% of employees quit within the first year and most say the reason is Steve Hoffa. Company sells their product mainly to one store 78% of sales go to one store. If that store kicks them out they will go under. Feels like prison at times. You are bullied and talked down to. You have to give your life to the company or they will make your life difficult. Core values. Not that the core values are bad but that the executives don’t live them. Just ask Steve Hoffa and his life changing diets. Obviously those didn’t stick. The pay is low but then again this is Vegas so the pay is high. Here is the most important part. They begged a manager to move from CA to Vegas when they moved. They told him to buy a house and a month after he was hired they fired him. Mind you this is also one of the employees they based their core values on. So imagine moving you, your spouse and 3 kids to Las Vegas, leaving all of your family in California, buying a house and then the company that convinced you to do it fires you. Why would you want to work for a company like that? Lastly, don’t drink the cool aid if you do decide to work there.

Pros

Cannon Safe owns GunVault and now Stack-On safes (when you don't know how retail works you lose shelf space then solve it by purchasing your biggest competitor...quite an expensive solution, temporary that is, to problem that will eventually repeat) The companies are all underneath "Alpha Guardian" and share many resources such as marketing, accounting HR, etc. but do have a small sales and admin team built for each. You're given the freedom to plan your own travel, which is nice, but there's zero financial oversight in place which results in reckless spending. Other than being a few really good genuine people that work there, I honestly can't think of any other Pro.

Cons

Verbally abusive, arrogant and pompous owner to start. I would imagine in his mind he's trying to motivate however it has the exact opposite effect on his employees. The President is the same for Cannon, GunVault and Stack-On and he has a few rules in place that you'll immediately notice upfront as odd. The on-line DISC assessment I have seen before from other companies however you're also required to read the book "Rockefeller Habits" before you have your 1st interview which is basically their bible for running the business. They live and breath quotes and passages out of it. They also operate day to day off the sales program Gazelle's which is nothing more than a generic template for running a team of employees. A truly effective leader doesn't need to pay the extremely high expense for such a snake-oil program and can lead on his or her own, possibly through a much less expensive CRM system. The President is stuck with an "it's always been this way" track of doing business and the majority of it is smoke and mirrors - it's all for optics to make it appear his team is working in a productive manner. You'll need to make sure a company issued "Core Values Coin" is in your pocket at ALL TIMES, in the office and outside on travel. I never heard what happens if they catch you without the coin but then again I never wanted to find out. Keep in mind they say the company reflects these core values, such as "Trust" and "Actions Speak Louder Than Words", but I can tell you it's all for show and the epitome of hypocritical. Also, you'll be required to routinely read certain books the President has handpicked for each of the employees to read, in which you're required to write a book report for each one. These books are an extension to the generic models of running a business and do nothing to address the REAL problems they, and their customers, face. I truly feel sorry for the guys who come over from Stack-On, they're in for a huge culture shock.

Pros

Can't think of any except you get a weekly paycheck

Cons

Sad story about little company buys larger company and the management doesn't have a clue about manufacturing and making money. There in way over there head, give company in Illinois 6 months before they have to close the doors and ship product to Mexico.
