Toxic environment

Pros

There are some very nice people that work here, but everyone seems anxious and unsettled because of the constant turnover and lack of communication from management.

Cons

The environment is the terrible. Everyone seems downtrodden and unhappy. The vibe here just feels toxic. Management is secretive and unprofessional. I've never worked in a more oppressive and bleak environment.

Pros

I was able to make some great friends while I was here and get some decent experience. That's about it. This would make an excellent business school case study in the "what not to do" category.

Cons

Where do I begin? The HR department is 10x bigger than it should be and is run by robots. Seriously, they might be robots. Management and their "Strategic Pillars" aren't fooling anyone. When you lack all ability to execute and have the vision of a dictator, it makes for terrible consequences. To make up for the Company's terrible financial position and complete disregard of the meaning of shareholder value, Management pushes products out the door too hastily. Things break, cases go poorly and surgeons get mad. Let's keep in mind that these are class II/III medical devices being used in patients, not Ikea desks you're going to get rid of in two years.

Don't be fooled, this company will probably be sold

Pros

Solid, caring employees (those few who are left), good benefits, decent office

Cons

3 major layoffs in one year (feb 2016-feb 2017), extremely understaffed, continued low stock price, stagnant sales, tiny Marketing dept left, all signs point to priming company for sale. They can't continue on current path with no money, tiny staff, no new products and dwindling customer base. Don't be fooled by Exec pep talks, not reality.
