This is Ashish Chordia, Founder & CEO. We might have lots of faults as a company but your claim of not being transparent is one we don't agree with! Thank you for your note here.

This is Ashish Chordia, Founder & CEO. This review is fairly accurate. * We pay well in Bangalore, we have a steep learning curve and flat hierarchy. We are proud of our culture and want the team to have a sense of ownership. The cons are somewhat true as well -- it's possible to get in the rut, feel burnt out and have no work-life balance. For the cons, all I can say is that our vacation policy is 'take as much as you need when you need it' and we do try to live by it. If you like to work 8 hour days and 5 days a week, Alphonso is probably not a good company for you. We are a customer-focused and fast-growing early-stage company and we take pride in having all our team members feel like owners/founders of the company, working hard, delivering stuff to market rapidly and with high quality, etc. so yes, work does spill into weekends and we expect people to deliver when needed and like adults then manage own time and take time off later when the workload is lower and fewer cycles are needed. Teams often self-organize and peers help out if asked to help. We have a few folks who need help with being able to take time for themselves and we are working hard to help such people who do not feel like taking time off. It's important to do so. Lastly, for anyone who is struggling and feeling overwhelmed, I am personally available and willing to step in and help.
