      Alternative was good in the first two months then after they began to have no respect for their staffs.

      Driven by money, not ethics

      Pros

      * They're so PERPETUALLY understaffed that you can usually get good hours. * The "consumers" (residents of the homes) can be great to get to know. A lot of cool residents.

      Cons

      * Company is driven mostly by money * Higher management has little true ethics/morals * If you report resident abuse to the company you WILL be retaliated against. Was warned about this by many other employees, but sadly I bought the lie that they were a family run company that cared. What difference does harassing residents make when the abusive employee can fill out the paperwork to make it all look good and keep the g'vmt money coming in? That's what matters: funding. Not residents. Definitely not ethics.

      A great place to work if you like to watch television.

      Pros

      The job is easy most days I watch law and order all shift long. The pay is good if you have a high school education. The also provide a basic healthcare package.

      Cons

      No room for advancement. The healthcare package is affordable only if you are single. Couples and families cost over four hundred dollars a pay period in deductions. They keep cutting back hours for staff. The also selectively enforce their policies based on how much they like you. No raises for years now.
