Pros
You are able to create a great working environment and build a team of dedicated professional people with a good work ethic. Allows you to be the first point of contact with the client improving that skill set very quickly Allows time, in most cases, to use the skills and experience to coach and train fellow members of staff. Pay is in line with other companies in the field of Contract Catering, but no other benefits at site level.
Cons
Takes 'Penny Pinching' to a whole new level! No respect for staff at site level. No reward or recognition at entry level. Very aggressive buying strategy, savings not passed to clients. All training completed 'on-line'. No training department to speak of! Very aggressive HR relations, very small (I believe two persons) HR department for the vast number of staff employed. Relies on untrained managers and a third party company to 'muddle through' this very complicated area. All site staff treated purely as a number with no interaction with 'support roles' Third party anonymous survey produced a shocking 75% of staff have no faith in Senior Managers the remaining 25% were unsure and no actions to improve this shameful stat. Once you have reached the end of your usefulness they use brutal tactics to remove you from your position with no thought to the affect to either the member of staff or their family. Last resort!
