Pros

I worked with some fairly knowledgeable and team-driven people who wanted to achieve a common goal in performing and innovating our support duties. Some of my coworkers, despite us all being put through the wringer at times, encouraged and helped others whenever needed, and took initiative where few others would not. Some of the managerial staff also helped where they could. Good position to get your foot in the door and make some potential networking connections, but not much else beyond that.

Cons

•Lack of support from coworkers/management when needed, sometimes desperately. •No room for growth beyond a lowly support position. •Unrealistic expectations of support staff from management especially with the pandemic hitting as hard as it did. •Pay/benefits were not nearly as competitive compared to other companies offering in-house support roles, mainly because AI is a staffing/consultation agency that takes a large cut of their employees' salaries, leaving them with what essentially could be considered crumbs in terms of a salary in NYC. •Support employees are hardly listened to when ideas and concepts of improving certain workflows are proposed. Instead of a collaborative environment where ideas could be bounced off one another, it was a daily, reactionary way of working on issues that could be more easily solved with in-depth brainstorming. •Aggressive top-down management where managers at higher levels would never be seen in communication with lower staff, unless it was to berate them. It's understood that higher level management didn't have the time to "deal" with lower support staff, but when larger issues or things of the sort could be talked over at a higher level, those opportunities were never present.

Pros

Great place to get started in the tech side of the financial industry. They offer real world experience and will put you in a high valued position from the start. You get to work with great people who know how to work as a team.

Cons

You generally work in a high paced environement and are given many responsibilities. The work can be spread thin sometimes, leaving you with more work than you may feel you can handle. Also, the work can get stagnant after some time, even though it's faced paced, and can eventually feel boring (in addition to overwhelming). Add that to the fact that even though you'll generally be given greater responsibility throughout the year, the compensation isn't always immediate, and when it is it's still below the industry average.
