Pros

Worked with many talented and inspirational people over the 20 years I was involved. Assima acquired DACG in 2005 and we became Assima. Made many friends and contacts who will always value.

Cons

Acquired by Partner One Capitol in Jan 2019 who immediately made most of the operational staff redundant.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We realize that acquisitions are difficult and there are always things that could be done better. As it is often the case, there were a lot of organizational changes made after the acquisition. That being said, we do value very much the feedback we can get from anyone in the team. This is part of the culture that we've been working hard to implement and maintain across all the organization. Our employees are our greatest asset and we appreciate the feedback and the opportunity for improvement!

Pros

The boss is open minded, you can really make a difference if you are motivated.

Cons

Benefits are limited, bonuses are rare and there is no atmosphere in the office. Flat organization which means it is not possible to have a promotion. Employees do not receive any training. People tends to be treated differently, for example, some are allowed to work from home when some are not. Big design decisions are made in South Africa, you will not have a say.

Poor take over

Pros

The "old guard" of staff who remain are wonderful people. Good tech.

Cons

The new Director since the take over is something to be avoided; poor work ethic, zero people skills, disregard to getting the job done properly or looking after staff. Once tried to make a junior employee "convince him" of who should stay and who should go during the next redundancy round. All in all just a disgusting excuse for a human being. Very much avoid.

Hello, Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear that your experience at Assima was not as expected, but you are right that we have wonderful people in the team. While Assima was indeed acquired back in 2019, there was no hostile takeover. We are very surprised about some of the statements in your review, and want to investigate further. Feel free to email hr@assima.net with more detail. Assima’s employees are its greatest asset, and we’re committing to improving for them!
