Pros

The client's Astreya has are some of the largest technology companies around, which is what entices both new starters, as well as those who currently work for Astreya to remain there. If it's anything, management know how to throw a good Christmas party...

Cons

To explain the review title, this is the 3rd attempt by our newly appointed CEO to get more staff to complete Glassdoor reviews. It seems that the reviews are to blame for several candidates turning down offers... Where to start... Astreya, in my opinion over the past 4 years, cares about the bottom line and meeting contract obligations over anything else. Benefits? For a multi-million dollar company, until the workplace pension came around, there was no pension nor a prospect of one. Now, I don't work for a company for it's benefits, but when you are treated as just another pawn who could be replaced at a split second's notice, I can say with conviction that if it wasn't for the clients we work for, at least half of the staff would no longer work here. My advice to our newly appointed CEO? Listen to your field staff, and get your head out of the clouds that is Santa Clara HQ. You say that all you hear about is complaints about compensation, then don't you think this resinates somewhat? You're another spokesperson preaching the same propaganda that I've heard from the previous CEOs in my tenure here. My final line: We work for the job, not for the company. When Astreya finally loses their main contract, I struggle to name a single person who wont jump ship to the next contract. Your staff are loyal to their work and positions, not the company they work for.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns on the Company. It is difficult for me to comment on actions by my predecessors so I will focus on where we are today and where we are going as a Company. I am very excited to have joined the Company as CEO just a couple months ago given that we are in a growth and investment stage. Understandably, those investment decisions are not made overnight, but we are moving forward very quickly in areas that you mention, in addition to others. Some of those investments will obviously impact some departments and individuals differently, but we are looking to positively impact the Company across the board. Those investments include increasing our competitiveness in employee offerings. We expect 2018 to be a great year for Astreya, and we expect the majority of our global employees to realize the benefits of the investments we make now and in the very near future. After meeting so many employees in customers in the first 60 days, I simply wanted to have us band together and lift all aspects of the business together. My request were not meant to be forced, so I apologize for your feeling this way.

Pros

Here are the true pro points from myself for little ole Astreya: - Met a few cool people along the way (From ground level to regional manager level) - Reasonable pay for entry level positions - Easy access to getting into the I.T industry - Good access to training material and expense for certifications - A few client perks - Burrito restaurant close to work

Cons

Oh boy, we're about to have some fun here, going to break the 4th wall a bit. - Benefits: Lol. What are those? - Vision: The vision of the company is very dense, with their slogan being 'Positively Productive' - Which sounds like an odd innuendo could be made out of that - Let me however stay on task here. You will forever be myth'd by what the company's goals are, where they're moving or even how the company is progressing with meeting objectives. There's really a lot of disconnect from the top to the bottom i.e. It seems 98% with the client and 2% spent with the company you're employed to. - Productivity: Most of the productivity of the company comes from the workforce and a handful of regional and service delivery managers (shout out to PMO too!). The vibe above those listed manager types can always be transposed to the workforce (and possibly even regional/SDM managers) as something very negative, never so much emphasizing how hard they're working or how far their contributions are taking and helping the company. Although there is a bonus scheme, it still seems to compensate very little for how much they contribute to any success Astreya makes. Working in different roles through the company, the morale of the workers throughout the years always seemed shockingly very low. - Career progression: If you're hoping for years and years worth of career progression through Astreya, I personally feel it's a big waste of time. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad gig if you have no degree, you're fresh out of college, you were flipping burgers for £3.99 an hour and you want to be given a chance, but if you have a ton of experience/skills, technical expertise and knowledge under your belt, you will definitely either be under-utilized, under-paid and definitely unrewarded. There have been increasing opportunities in the last few years to progress from being a workforce support technician and progressing onto something a little more demanding, but the size and level of the advancements are very small and not very substantial, and actually hinders your progression because you end up blindsided and misguided of knowing what your actual value and worth is or what contribution and progression you're making in your professional career. Astreya needs to get better with diagramming out and presenting true career paths for individuals and guiding them more effectively through their young I.T careers. - Creative activity: Furthering from the career progression point, there's really not a lot of opportunity to make use of your own skills and teachings. You're assigned to a core job and you're to only do that job that fits within that job spec, so that leaves minimal room to showcase anything to allow you to progress further. Opportunities are very scarce, it's very dependent on a previous employee leaving to make an open space to fill - And even those roles follow a practice of cronyism - You're also very rarely told these roles have become available either. There's a mixed range of diverse skilled individuals who can contribute so much through training each other different skills and practices - Such skills that are either critical with knowing or skills to boost one's resume/CV. As a result of staff feeling under-utilized and such, staff either leave or grow slightly stale within their current roles, often experiencing little to no progression. However, Astreya does offer a great source of training material, along with expense certifications, but so much cost/time could be saved through making use of skilled individuals to effectively teach one another new tricks. - Really, who is writing these fake 5 star reviews? It's very transparent lol Just to finish this off, guys, let's push for 3 thumbs up on this.

Pros

The clients Astreya have are amazing, and the benefits these clients give make it worth staying for.

Cons

There is SO much responsibility put on your shoulders, any small cockup could lead to big consequences with your name on the chopping board without any investigation before hand. There is VERY VERY little career progression, like AT ALL. Some people have been around for 3/4/5 years and have only been promoted once, with you having to also apply for a payrise and that, on average, is 3%, compared to some of Astreya's clients which are seeing a LOT higher payrise percentages.
